I've started working on the damaged canopy and frames, as you can see there is a lot of work to be done remaking the frames, positioning and drilling off, then final assembly before I start trimming and cutting the new canopy. Just the canopy alone is over $1100 to replace.
The Roll over frame and the AFT frame of the tip up canopy need to be re-made, All the attach brackets are bent and damaged as well, all that needs to be replaced as well.
I made up a hard wood forming block to hand form the frames, thanks Dave Stevens (Rangi) who gave me the wood for the forming block. The frames are made out of annealed alloy sheet that is knocked over to form the frame shape using rubber and wooden mallets, Each frame took around an hour to form and dress followed by trimming to remove excess material before going back into the forming block for final adjustments, after that they have to be heat treated to bring the material back up to it's proper strength.
